Dear Editors,
In view
of Iran's
president's
claim that
Israel should
be "wiped off
the face of
the earth", it
is,
surely, incumbent
upon our
government,
with its
allies and
hopefully UN
backing, to
ensure that
Iran does not
acquire
nuclear
weapons - by
whatever means
may be
necessary,
including
military
action.
It was very
stupid of our
foreign
minister, Jack
Straw, to
publicly rule
out military
action, since
the threat of
it is probably
the only thing
that will
deter Iran
from pursuing
its nuclear
ambitions.
Failing which,
sooner or
later, whether
pre-emptive or
in response to
Iranian
aggression,
military
action is
almost
inevitable.
Thank you,
Jack Straw,
whose
over-zealous
concern for
Muslim votes
should
disqualify him
from being
foreign
minister.
