Dear
Sir/Madam,
Every now and
again someone
says or writes
just a short
sentence that
sums up and
makes clear
what a
different
world they
live in to my
own. Such was
the case in
the article, "Runner-up
Huhne is given
task of
leading a
green
revolution",
by your
political
editor, George
Jones, in
Monday's
Telegraph,
where he
writes, "But
despite coming
second, he
[Chris Huhne]
has not been
given one of
the top posts,
such as home,
foreign
affairs or
shadow
chancellor"
(my italics).
George Jones,
and, I
fear, most
(perhaps, all)
of you other
editors at the
Telegraph,
still do not
realise just
how important
the
environment
is.
Everything we
do depends
ultimately and
absolutely on
the natural
environment.
If we
seriously
damage or
disrupt it -
which we are
well on the
way to doing -
we (certainly
our children
or
grandchildren)
are not just
in serious
trouble, but
DEAD!!
There is no
more important
post for a
politician
that of
(shadow)
Environment
Minister.
