In response to the Guardian article, "Why do we need Britishness?" by Sunny Hundal on why he thinks "we" need "Britishness"

Link to article and thread at The Guardian.

My first post was deleted by the editors of CiF, so I posted it again.

If the editors are going to delete this post again, I'd appreciate an explanation as to how it contravenes CiF talk policy. Or does any criticism of immigration qualify as "racist" on this thread?

Sunny, Britain is already natively and unsustainably overpopulated! Couldn't you immigrants create "advanced" and prosperous societies in your countries of origin, based on the achievements of your own cultures and forebears? I'm sure you are capable of it (certainly the Asians amongst you) and that in the long-run you would be a lot happier for it. A greater sense of self-achievement and all that, instead of jumping onto someone else's bandwagon. How can you really identify with a society (British, European) whose history goes back more than 2500 years and is not your own, but that of the native population?

You can call yourselves British, or whatever you like; British citizenship means nothing to me anymore, other than a license to feed at the same trough. Still, provided you keep your elbows in and don't burp in my face . . . Most of you seem to have better manners than many of my fellow natives. Perhaps I should join the "progressive" Left and "go immigrant", although I don't think so.
