 Philosophy of

In the past, although life for most people was hard and they had very little to be thankful for, they still thanked God for what they had.

Nowadays the situation is reversed: most of us, in the wealthy countries of the world, have so much to be thankful for, yet who thinks of thanking God for all the blessings - facilitated by modern science and technology - that make our lives so secure, pleasant and comfortable?

Instead, we are told that these are all man's achievements! It is man we are encouraged to glorify and to put our faith in our clever politicians and brilliant scientists, who promise to lead us to peace and prosperity and to solve all our material problems.

It is this attitude, more than anything else, that is determining the fatal course we are on.
